Say hello to Roman Moyzman, Master Electrician and Operations Manager
Roman is the kind of person who never backs down from a challenge. Whether he is designing a complex system or working long hours to help people get their power back on, he brings both skill and heart to the job.

We sat down with Roman to hear about his journey, what keeps him motivated, and what he is up to when he is not at work.
How It All Started
What do you do at The Electricians?
I am the Master Electrician and Operations Manager. Basically, I do a little bit of everything.
How long have you been here?
Almost five years now.
What made you want to become an electrician?
My dad is an electrician, and when I realized college was not the right path for me, I gave it a try. I ended up really enjoying it.
Tell us a little about your background.
I moved to the United States from Odessa, Ukraine in 1992 and grew up in New Jersey. I joined the Marine Corps in 2007. After I got out, I gave college a shot. That lasted about three and a half seconds before I switched to trade school to learn electrical work.
How did you end up at The Electricians?
Tony and I used to work together at another company. We did side jobs together on the weekends and always worked well as a team. When he started The Electricians, I joined him a few months later.
A Day in the Life
What does a typical day look like for you?
It really depends on what needs to get done. I handle emails, talk with customers, manage design and build projects, take care of warranty work, and step in wherever I am needed.
What type of work do you enjoy most?
Commercial and industrial service work is my favorite. There is more room to problem solve and think creatively.
Do you have a project that stands out in your memory?
When I was still pretty new, I was sent out alone to build a power system for a giant industrial vacuum. I had to put together the service, a phase converter, a transformer, and all the motor controls with no help. It felt overwhelming at the time, but it taught me a lot. I look back at that job as a big turning point.
Any customer stories that have stayed with you?
During Hurricane Sandy, we were following the power company and restoring services. Some people had been without electricity for weeks. One woman asked us to stay late to help her. She baked us brownies in the dark and then made us breakfast once her power was back on. That one stuck with me. It turned into a great experience.

Life Outside of Work
What do you like to do when you are off the clock?
I usually hang out with my dog and fiancée, read, watch some TV, and write jokes.
Any hobbies or interests?
Fishing, shooting, stand up comedy, and music are some of my favorites.
What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
In high school, I signed up for a swim competition on a bet. I had never done it before but ended up winning three medals. I never swam competitively again, but it makes for a good story.
