We start with photometric design, fixture selection, and Xcel rebate eligibility, then schedule the install around your operations. Retrofits get audited before we quote. New installations get designed before we order. The single biggest reason our clients call us is the rebate paperwork. Xcel Energy’s Business Lighting program covers a meaningful percentage of the fixture and labor cost on most qualifying retrofits, but the application is not casual reading. We complete the pre-approval, the photo documentation, the post-install verification, and the close-out report. The check arrives in your name. Yes. We schedule retail TI work, warehouse retrofits, and office installations after-hours, on weekends, or in phases that protect your operating schedule. Tell us your blackout windows and customer-facing hours and we plan around them. For 24/7 facilities, we phase the work zone-by-zone so operations never stop.
Do you provide warranties on fixtures and installation?
Yes. We pass through the manufacturer fixture warranty (typically 5 to 10 years on commercial-grade LED) and we warranty our installation labor for 5 years. Documentation is provided at hand-off. If a fixture fails under warranty, we coordinate replacement with the manufacturer and handle the swap in-house.
Can you match existing fixture color temperatures and design aesthetic?
Yes. For phased retrofits or design-sensitive spaces — retail, hospitality, healthcare, hospitality — we match existing color temperatures (CCT) and color rendering (CRI) so spaces look consistent before, during, and after the work. We can also design new schemes from scratch for full overhauls or new construction.
What is a typical project timeline for a commercial lighting retrofit?
Site audit and quote in 1 to 2 weeks. Fixture order and Xcel pre-approval typically takes 3 to 4 weeks. Install timing varies with project size — a small retail TI is often 1 to 2 nights, a warehouse retrofit can take 2 to 6 weeks depending on size and operations. Rebate check typically arrives 4 to 8 weeks after install verification is submitted.
