Most electrical contractors lump commercial work into one bucket. We do not. Ground-up commercial construction needs a different team, a different conversation, and a different timeline than a tenant improvement on an occupied floor. The full electrical scope runs from underground service entrances through switchgear, distribution, lighting, branch wiring, fire alarm, and low-voltage. The job touches every floor, every system, and every other trade. The earlier we are at the table, the better the result.

That is why our Construction Division leads with pre-construction planning and design-build coordination. We sit with your architects, engineers, and general contractor before mobilization to refine the electrical scope, run BIM and 3D clash detection, identify cost optimizations, and lock in the CPM schedule. Then our crews execute that plan from foundation conduit through final commissioning, with daily progress reports and full close-out documentation.

Questions Developers and GCs Ask

When should we bring you in on a new commercial project?

As early as you can. Pre-construction is where the biggest savings happen. If we are at the table during design development and design-build coordination, we can run BIM clash detection, suggest value engineering on equipment and pathways, identify long-lead items, and lock in a CPM-aligned schedule. Bringing us in after permits are pulled is fine, but we are most valuable in the pre-con phase.

Do you work as a sub or as a prime contractor?

Both. We sub frequently for general contractors on ground-up commercial projects and tenant build-outs. We also prime directly for owners and developers when there is no GC of record or when the owner wants a single point of accountability for the electrical scope. Our estimator will tell you up front which structure makes sense for your project.

Can you handle BIM coordination and 3D modeling?

Yes. BIM and 3D coordination are part of our standard pre-construction process for projects of meaningful size. We model conduit pathways, panel locations, and major equipment against the architectural, structural, and mechanical models so clashes are caught and resolved before mobilization. This is one of the highest-value services we offer to GCs and developers.

What size projects can you handle?

Service capability up to 4,000A means we are sized for everything from a 5,000 sq ft retail TI through a multi-floor commercial building or industrial facility. We have completed work at major retail centers, hospital campuses, and government facilities, so the project size that matches our team is broad. The right conversation for your specific project happens on a site walk.

Do you handle fire alarm coordination?

Yes. While we are not a fire alarm vendor, we coordinate closely with the fire alarm contractor on every commercial project. We handle the rough-in, conduit pathways, and life-safety branch wiring, then partner with the fire alarm vendor for device installation, programming, and final testing. The seam between fire alarm and electrical is one of the most common project headaches, and we manage it actively.

Can you handle prevailing wage or public-sector projects?

Yes. We have completed work for the Colorado Department of Transportation, the VA Hospital, and other government and prevailing-wage jobs. We maintain the certifications, certified payroll documentation, and pre-qualifications required to bid public-sector commercial construction work.

What are your insurance and bonding limits?

We carry 2M (two million dollars) in general liability coverage and are bonded for commercial work. We also carry a 5M umbrella policy. Certificate of insurance and bonding documentation are available on request. We can name additional insureds and provide endorsements as required by the GC, owner, or municipality.
